What are good ways to boost your metabolism?
Hi Morgan!
You can boost your metabolism in several good ways. There are foods to eat, foods to avoid, a pattern of eating, and specific exercises that will all work to boost your metabolism if done properly. The methods work well together and they are sustainable long term. First, eat a meal about every 3 waking hours (5 or 6 meals per day). You will not be eating more food; you will simply be spreading it throughout the day. Each of those 5 or 6 feedings should contain at least 15 grams of unprocessed protein (from natural sources) for a female or at least 20 grams per feeding for a male.
Also, drink plenty of water. Increase your intake daily until you are consuming at least 3 quarts daily–and one gallon daily would be better. Second, eliminate processed (refined) carbohydrates from your diet. Processed (refined) carbohydrates have negative effects on health. They can also cause weight gain and slow down metabolism. When digested all carbohydrates turn into sugar, and sugar becomes fat. So, think of eating carbohydrates as eating sugar and think of eating processed (refined) carbohydrates as eating concentrated sugar.
If you want to boost your metabolism to lose body fat, allow yourself only 40 to 70 grams of carbohydrates daily. Get those carbohydrates from natural sources such as (preferably organic) fresh vegetables and low carb fruits. There is no minimum daily requirement for carbohydrates, but they do have many beneficial phytochemicals and fiber so eating some is fine (as long as they are unprocessed). Third, begin a program of mild fitness exercise (cardio) such as brisk walking. For example, today go for a walk at the best pace you can manage until you are comfortably tired.
Note how far you walked. The day after tomorrow, go for another walk but increase the distance slightly. Continue walking every other day until you are walking 4 miles. Once you are able to do that, slightly increase your pace with each walk until you are walking those 4 miles in just under 1 hour every other day. This will burn many extra calories during an immediately after your walks. Fourth, begin a strength training program to increase your lean muscle mass. Lean muscle is a METABOLIC FURNACE that will burn extra calories 24 HOURS DAILY.
Male or female, young or old, everyone can lose body fat this way. At the bottom of this reply, I have added page links to Internet resources for free walking for weight loss plans, free strength training programs for beginners or more intermediates, free lists of fat burning foods to boost your metabolism and lists of foods that slow down metabolism. I hope this helps you, Morgan. All my best wishes.

I'm interested in boosting my metabolism up so i can lose some more weight (20 pounds) but im cautious because i don't wanna take any wrong stuff only if they're natural
Natural isnt always harmles! Natural products have side effects too (most poisonous substance known to man is natural!!!).
Anyway, thats my bit of useless information for the day …the answer to your question.
Thermogenic products which speed up the metabolism work, but there are a few minuses to them.
The heat created can cause discomfort, especially at night when sleep may be difficult.
The effects are proven to last just a few weeks and the biggest problem (in my view) is that once the effects finish, your own metabolism can take a nosedive and your body can slow down quite markedly.
I know how you feel, at times I must admit to being tempted to use them (lots more weight to lose, have already lost 70lb). But really it isnt worth it in the long run. You are right to get informed before you take any action;

too weak to work out and gaining weight
I do not have sleep apnea. My body is shutting down and it is painful and exhausting.
Hi there. My mum has a form of chronic fatigue and the doctors found that it was partly to do with another condition they detected called Sleep Apneoa. While she slept she was stopping breathing during the night and therefore not getting enough oxygen in her system and her body was not "recharging" while she slept. Once this was diagnosed she had studies done and now she sleeps on a breathing machine and feels much better when waking up in the morning. Maybe ask your doctor about this.
Also, as it is very common to feel too weak to exercise doing mainstream gym work, it may be a good idea to look into an activity such as aqua aerobics. It is no impact, you can go at your own pace and still keeps you healthy.
I hope this helps.
